She brought both cultures together and helped bring Tejano music into the mainstream. The same way most people grieve a celebrity who has died far from their prime, the death of her was premature and destroyed an energizing career. In order to prevent her accomplishments from being forgotten her many admirers over the past years have been motivated to go further. Selena was the Tejano performer who fatally shot dead in a shooting accident, caused the Latino response that could be likened to the reaction to John Lennon's death. Selena was a hugely loved Latino singer across North America. Her music transcended boundaries and inspired youngsters as well as older adults. Selena is a flamboyant sexually attractive performer who is sometimes described as Latina Madonna. But, she's also a respected role model because she is offstage and has an attitude of family and active participates in anti-drug programs.
